    3. Does the book you refer to mention an Annie Lehew (dau. of John Lehew and Nancy Conner) that married in Frederick Co. 24 SEP 1816. I found their marriage but know nothing of her family or parents. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. -----Original Message----- From: ewhitten2@comcast.net [mailto:ewhitten2@comcast.net] Sent: Saturday, February 07, 2004 4:39 PM To: WVHAMPSH-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [WVHAMPSH-L] Lehew, Spencer Thanks for the response. Yes, I have the pages from the book copied by the library in Front Royal, VA and have been stopped to this point for many years. 3. The book says that a John, son of Francis, son of Peter, was probably b ca 1770-5. He md. Nancy Conner (or Comer?), in Shenandoah Co. VA 24 Nov 1791. He appears on Shen. and/or Frederick Co. tax lists from 1792 to 1812. It says he appears in the 1810, 1820 and 1830 censuses and that the 1810 one suggests that he may have had as many as 12 children. Known ones were Abner, and Sarah, who md. John Martin 7 Feb 1816. Tentative ones are Jeremiah, Jane (md Jos. Gordon), and Rebecca (md. John Welch). Others are not known. In short, no apparent known daughter Ann for John. There were of course several Anns, but not of John, and all later than yours. You might try to borrow this book via inter-library loan, since it has so much material in it, it probably nees to be studied, and perhaps in some cases, verified. The author does try to distinguish between his own speculations and conclusions versus the actual records, which he often cites. --- Diane Kittle <diane.kittle@voyager.net> wrote: > Does the book you refer to mention an Annie > Lehew (dau. of John Lehew and > Nancy Conner) that married in Frederick Co. 24 > SEP 1816.
