Conegochiege -- not a Virginia word, any way you spell it. It's Maryland, maybe PA. Winchester is in Virginia; always has been; not even Tom Cresap claimed differently. I probably should tell you that you may very well find land grants recorded in VA, MD, and PA for the same piece of land; it was common practice, because of the border disputes, which weren't all settled by Mason-Dixon and their line. If you patented your land in all three jurisdictions, you ensured your ownership in case of boundary changes.
