    3. I wrote Sharon H. Link, Clerk Hampshire Co. Commission P.O. Box 806 Romney, W.VA 26757 I asked her if the index of the old records could be checked for the Umstott name and sent her ten dollars. She wrote back and said there were 4 Umstott names and they would be $5 each. After I sent that, she wrote back and gave me the total amount that would be needed for copying. I sent it to her in November. I have talked to her several times on the phone and found her pleasant and efficient. Evidently, these records are very hard for her to access and it took quite awhile for her to get the copies made but they were good clean copies and she did an excellent job. There has been a lot of talk on this site about the prices charged but I know of no county that doesn't charge for copy and postage as they should.
