Sara, I received your copy of the article, and read it with interest. My George Core settled on Lot 12, but was left off of the list for some reason. I have a copy of his lease, which mentions adjoiners Christopher Cocke and Adam Hider. He sold his lease to Andrew Pancake in 1775, and the sale was recorded in 1777 (Hampshire County, WV Deed Book 3, pp. 154-155). I had decided that the property was located near Petersburg, since I recalled that a nearby leaseholder had property on Lunice Creek. I'll use your article to rethink my conclusion, since I've found out that there is a Core's Run near Romney, just north of the village of Pancake. It would somehow make sense if my ancestor's property was there! Thanks for your help. I'm glad to have found a legitimate researcher among the "easy-chair" genealogists. Brian Brian D. Core P.O.
