I was looking on-line and found a James Beggs m. a Mary Custer(cousin to Elizabeth Custer, who married James Cain). In this website, it says, James Beggs was the son of Thomas Beggs and Sarah Barnes. Thomas died in 1780 and Sarah remarried to Stephen Ruddell(married a Mary Bird 1st, she also died about 1780).
