Izetta and group, I went out after work for an hour today looking for your cemetery and couldn't find it, so let me tell you of my adventure. I didn't talk with Gary Orndorff, but did talk to his wife, Robin. She had never been there, but she mentioned the neighbor in the trailer, so I went there, and the husband was at work, and the wife there didn't know where it was, all they did was point into the woods. I parked the truck at the end of the road, and headed through the barbed-wire fencing. After getting into the first field and briers and brambles. I walked up the left-hand middle side of the property and guess what I found, a cemetery, and guess which one? Not the McCauley. Which do you think? http://members.citynet.net/rwayne/hampco/hiettj.htm the John Hiett Cemetery next to the old log cabin on the John Whitacre farm. Then I headed around the cemetery to the left and walked east until I came to the fence on the far side of the cow pasture. Then back through more stickers and back to where I started. I kept walking and headed to the far west side of the field and came to as close to the woods as I could and followed and followed, and still nothing, this time I was by the old log cabin and the big read barn and cows. This time I walked past the log cabin and headed back and forth across the big field heading toward my truck. Still nothing. So I got in my truck and headed home, it was getting dark. Let me tell you of my conclusions. First, there are plenty of rocks and deer on the property. Did I mention stickers? Don't waste your time wandering the fields this weekend looking for the cemetery unless you wear yellow or orange or red. This is the first weekend for bow hunting. So if you go out, be careful. When you talked to Mr. Whitacre, where did he say the cemetery was in relation to where his house was (this is the place where the dog was tied up when we were driving through the cow pastures right?) I'm just curious if we are searching the wrong fields. To my knowledge there is no place that had two chimney, either fallen down or standing where I walked and I walked alot. I came to a maybe conclusion. Could the two chimney house you are looking be the old house that is by the John Hiett Cemetery? I know that you mentioned that the house had fallen down, or did you? The person that has the property to the east of the Whitacre place is 150+ acres with an old white house on it. Could this be the place to search???? That is it for now, lets email about this if you have the time, you ask question, I ask, you answer, I answer and maybe we can figure this out. My final conclusion for the day. NO MCCAULEY CEMETERY in the vicinity. Could it be east of the Whitacres. Wayne At 10:36 PM 10/7/2002 -0700, you wrote: >Wayne, >I don't know any thing about this cemetery.
