In follow-up to what Jane posted, Wilmer Kerns, in his "Historical Records of Old Frederick & Hampshire Counties, Va.," has the following notes: p.91--"Minutes of Crooked Run Baptist Church list members of the church, including 44 charter members of 1790. The following names are presented in the same order as found in the church record book: ...Mary Blue (Wife of Garret Blue)...." p.122--"Blue, Garrett W., died 'last Tuesday,' aged 81 years. He was an uncle of Mrs. Susan Parsons. Source: The June 21, 1872 issue of the South Branch Intelligencer, Romney, W.Va." p.123--"Blue, Uriah, died on May 3, 1854, aged 74 years. His wife, Elizabeth, died Oct. 30, 1857, aged 80 years." No source given. According to census records, before living with Issac & Susan Parsons, Garret lived with Susan's parents for several years.
