    3. Many of our ancestors that settled in Hampshire County came from Chester Co, PA or NJ. You will find most of the Savilles, Wilsons, Allens, Piles, Daniels, Ruckmans, Friends to name a few came in on the Delaware River, settled in Chester County or NJ, than came south to Maryland and on to Hampshire County before going west. Dr. Kerns book on Old Frederick County names many of those families with birthplaces, siblings or other relatives in those areas.
