Dear Subscribers to the Hampshire County, West Virginia Mailing List, I would love to learn more about Robert DOUGLAS, who was born in Scotland about 1774, and lived and died at Hanging Rock, Hampshire County, [West] Virginia. Robert DOUGLAS's wife was Elizabeth WOOD, who was also a native of Scotland. They had seven children: Sarah ["Sallie",] Nancy, Mary ["Polly"], Rebecca, Thomas, Stephen and William. William DOUGLAS was born 29 Feb 1808 at Hanging Rock. This family migrated to Greenbriar County, [West] Virignia, and then to Greenup County, Kentucky. If you have information or suggestions regarding this DOUGLAS research, let's work on it together. This Robert DOUGLAS may have been my fifth-great grandfather, if certain items match.
