I have a copy of Vicki Horton's "Abstracts from the South Branch Intelligencer, June 1837-Dec. 1839." Unfortunately, no Pickerings (or Poseys) there. Vicki Horton's "Hampshire Co. Records 1816-1923" mentions a Jonathan Pickering and his wife Mary (Kline), in connection with a law suit among various members of the Kline family (16 Sept. 1847). Sage & Jones (Early Records, Hampshire Co.), besides giving the marriage bond for Hiram Pickering and Sarah Ann Posey, mentions a William Pickering who was witness to the will of Henry Lewis (5-9-1774), and "Massey Pickering's children," mentioned in the will of Jesse Lupton (4-10-1839). Benjamin Pickering was a witness to John Barrett's will (10-24-1823). Let me know if you would like the full entries. Best wishes, Martha Grenzeback graymatters@ibm.net At 11:10 AM 01-05-2000 -0700, you wrote: >Posted on: Hampshire County, WV Query Forum >Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/WV/Hampshire?read=1163 > >Surname: Pickering, Posey >------------------------- > >Does anyone have, know where to find, or know how to get a lookup from >a copy of this: > >EXCERPT FROM THE HAMPSHIRE COUNTY SITE >A very few (about 17 individual issues) copies of "The South Branch Intelligencer" >exist prior to December 1866.
