I have been researching the Moreland name & have hit the "proverbial brick wall". My gr-grandmother was born in either Hampshire Co. or Hardy Co. A suggestion was made that possibly the name Moorefield came from all the Morelands that lived in that area. My gr-grandmother was born: Ida Bell Moreland, Oct. 03, 1872--I've been told in Antioch, but have found no record of her birth. She died Oct. 26, 1947 in Cumberland, MD, but no information there either. Does anyone know where in Hampshire Co. I might look, or even in Hardy Co. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
