    3. Marian, Re your questions: #1. Go to http://www.usgenweb.com:80/statelinkstext.html, go down & click on West Virginia. This page gives a listing of all counties, dates formed, and parent counties. #2-5. The WV State repository had a fire circa 1919-1920 which I believe destroyed many of the records there prior to that date. Each county should have their own records, under the responsibility of the Clerk of Court. If you've gotten nowhere with them, however, I would suggest ordering the microfilm of birth, death, and marriage records covering the dates and counties in question at a local LDS/Family History Center. The cost is a mere $2.50 per microfilm, and the microfilm will be held there for you to view during a 4-5 wk period. Once ordered, it takes about 2 wks for the microfilm to arrive Personally, I would go the microfilm route. While looking the microfilmed registers, you may come across other family members, etc. Good luck! Elaine
