Looking for a copy of the book entitled " Dear Esther:The Civil War Letters of Private Aungier Dobbs, Company A, Ringgold Cavalry". Written by Ralph Haas and published by Closson Press in 1991. It's out of print and not expected to be reprinted. Understand it has an index and looking for my family listed. Aungier Dobbs helped to guard the "Wire Bridge" bet Romney and Springfield. I did a search for you I have a lot of bookstore sites. The book is actually Dear Esther : the Civil War letters of Private Aungier Dobbs, Centerville, Pennsylvania written by Aungier Dobbs Re printed Dear Esther: The Civil War letters of Private Aungier Dobb, Centerville, Pennsylvania. By Ralph Haas. Edited by Philip Ensley. Apollo, Pa.: Closson Press, c 1991 Found this in PA Civil War bookstore, but its apparently out of print they transferred me to amazon. There was a battle in Ringgold, Georgia , and also Ringgold's lt artillery. Used book stores could do a search for you for the book. Nothing in either book index about Wire Bridge, possible another name. Trying to trace a copy of Esther if you are still interested.
