Hi Thanks for responding. I was fishing around to find a location for the Hyden/Chesnut families - Hopeful that they were located near the Pattersons Creek area of Hampshire Co. and possibly associating with the GOOD family. Augusta Co. is distant enough that there probably is no connection with the Patterson Creek GOOD's. The marriage record I posted was found within - "CHRONICLES OF THE SCOTCH-IRISH SETTLEMENT OF VIRGINIA; Vol 2, pp 310-319 by Lyman Chalkley Bill -----Original Message----- From: Genie [mailto:] Sent: Friday, March 26, 2004 4:03 PM To: WVHAMPSH-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [WVHAMPSH-L] Hampshire Co., VA 1796 Marriage Hyden/Chesnut I have an Augusta Co. VA listing of marriage of Joshua Hyden and Mary Chesnutt, Feb. 2, 1796. Sounds like the same couple - one date is probably either the date the certificate was issued, or date of the wedding, the other the date of the wedding or of the recording of same. There were several other Chesnut (various spellings) marriages listed - all were women except two grooms named John and Wm. A Joshua HIDEN was listed in Augusta Co. in 1810. --- Bill <bill-good1@comcast.net> wrote: > Hello, > Does anyone have Hyden or Chesnut families in > Hampshire Co., VA ? > 1796--January 26, > Joshua Hyden and Martha Chesnut (of age), > daughter of Wm.
