    3. About 1940 the old Flanagan Farm house was located back off of Route 46 about 1 mile west of Fort Ashby. It was never giving TLC. Riley's bought it from the Flangan Estate. Mr Riley thought he could farm like in Kansas and failed. It was during WW II. Mr. Riley had worked on the B & O. They finally gave up and she got the job of postmaster in Spring Gap. She is way up in years now and her mind is not good. She lives with one of the children on Florida's west coast. I don't remember who bought the farm from Riley's. Kiser to Sarah F. Flanagan by deed dated Dec. 3, 1914 and recorded in Deed Book 34 at page 349, Mineral County Records and ""hickory tree pointer now marked at the lower end of Charles Deremer's bottom below his house and running thence leaving Deremer and with the J. Floren Bowers line calling for said Flanagan land ---" I do know that this land is at Rt. 46, along Patterson Creek, in Mineral County, about 2 miles west of Fort Ashby. We own the land that this deed was made for, and the Deremers and Bowers families still own the land mentioned. I am not positive which section in this area was the Flanagan land. I fyou are familiar with the area, I could give you directions to the vicinity of it and where i think it sounds like the tract is located. Sharon Malone Knotts

    3. Bill, Was that house down along the creek right past Junior Bower's Farm? That would be the area that I think was mentioned in the deed. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill and Carole Pyles" <wpyles@cfl.rr.com> To: <WVHAMPSH-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, December 22, 2003 9:54 PM Subject: [WVHAMPSH-L] Flanagan > About 1940 the old Flanagan Farm house was located > back off of Route 46 about 1 mile west of Fort Ashby. > It was never giving TLC.
