    3. Just a note to let you know that there is an error in the transcription of burials for the Timber Ridge Christian Church Cemetery, for the tombstone of Catherine Capper (wife of Charles Capper). The transcription on the website ( http://members.citynet.net/rwayne/hampco/timber.htm) for the Timber Ridge Christian Church Cemetery shows a tombstone for Charles Capper born ca 1787, died Sept 9, 1831. This is NOT Charles Capper's tombstone and the actual inscription of that tombstone says C. Capper 1787 - Sept 9, 1831. I have a photo of that tombstone which taken less than a year ago. The tombstone is that of Catherine McVickers Capper, the first wife of Charles Capper. After Catherine's death, Charles Capper married Elizabeth McKeever and they moved to Grant County, Indiana where they are both alive in the 1850 census. There is a note in a book published about Hampshire Co. WV or Frederick Co. Virginia, can't remember which book it was, that speculates that the C. Capper tombstone at Timber Ridge is that of Charles Capper, however that speculation was in error. Charles Capper died on June 16, 1852 in Lafayette , MO while on a visit there. He was traveling by boat and contracted an illness which he died from. His widow Elizabeth and their children were residing in Grant County, Indiana at that time. It appears that many of the transcriptions of the tombstones on The Hampshire County, WV Cemeteries website were taken from some previously published (and presumably copyrighted) books of cemeteries in Hampshire Co. WV (perhaps the Ralph Triplett book (s) ? ) which may have errors in them. The C. Capper tombstone is just one example, which I hope can be corrected before another book of cemetery/tombstone inscriptions is published. I am still looking through all of the info on that website to see if other errors might exist for the tombstones of my ancestors buried in some of the cemeteries listed for those which I have photos of the actual tombstones, so can verify the dates that way against the transcribed data.
