    2. Elaine D Tomkins
    3. Cheryl, Another Hiett researcher told me about the book last year. It covers the descendants of John Sr., not just John Jr. I don't remember the price, but it is VERY expensive, over $100. I found it listed in the holdings of the Cincinnati main library, and this is the description they have for it. TITLE: Hiatt-Hiett genealogy and family history, 1699-1949; being, in particular, a record of John Hiett, Quaker, England to Pennsylvania c1699, and upwards of ten thousand of his descendants. AUTHOR: Johnson, William Perry, 1918- PUBLISHED: Payson, Utah, Jesse Hiatt Family Association ยข1951! DESCRIPTION: 1013 p. illus. 29 cm. SUBJECT: Hiatt family. Of course, if you go to http://genforum.genealogy.com/hiett/ and go to message dated 7/18/00, posted by Michael H. Charles, you will see info on a 2-vol book on John Jr. & descendants by Larry Anderson, reportedly published recently. Maybe that is what you are referring to. Elaine

    2. Toots
    3. I have the Henry Howe Ohio books in my library as they were my Grandad's. I am getting ready to put a genealogy book together and thought I would use the old sketched pictures of the county court houses where they went in Ohio. I just needed to know if I would find such a thing for Hampshire County or Romeny, WV. Seems all my mother's family came from there. OR does someone from that area have a suggestion of an old old picture of that area? Tootsie

    3. Don't remember exactly which line of Hiett's, but just last week I was at the Middletown Public Library in Butler Co. OH and they had a pretty large book on the Hiett family in their genealogy section. It caught my eye as I was browsing the shelves for something on my MILLS family, (which, naturally, I didn't find). Seems to me they were VA Hietts, but can't say for sure. You might write the library for more information on it and perhaps it can be borrowed on interlibrary loan from another library. 3. Posted on: Hampshire County, WV Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/WV/Hampshire/1407 Surname: Miller, Bageant, Heironimus, Krizer ------------------------- The 1880 Muskingum County, OH, census lists W.A. Miller, his wife Mary, his daughter Bertha, and Dora, his sister. This sister (sic), Dora, is 12 years old. All listed in this household were born in either VA or WV. The head of household is my great grandfather, known to me as Amos Miller. His wife is Mary Elizabeth (Sirbaugh) Miller. Bertha is my grandmother, Bertha Estella (Miller) Stickley. Dora Miller, born in 1868 in WV, is listed as a girl. Is Dora really a boy? The Miller family, genealogical records reveal, have/has used the name Dora as a boy's name. For example, Dora Stephen Miller, and Dora Elmer Eaton. There are others. What does the 1870 Hampshire County, WV, census show? Dora Miller's father is Stephen Miller. Dora's mother is Sarah Ann (Heironimus) Miller; she is Stephen's second wife and was the widow of John W. Bageant when she married for the second time. Stephen was a widower when they married in 1852. So, is there anyone out there in cyberspace who knows the answer to the question? Does Amos have a younger brother or sister?
