    2. Martha, Yes, I think that is her, though I was hoping for a cause of death. She did have a sister Lillie, so I'm sure that's her too. As I mentioned before, my Great-grandmother had told me that they all died of "what ever was going around that year." She had told me that it was a great tragedy for the family, because so many were lost. The death of Jane left my g-grandma an orphan, she was only 5 years old at the time, and didn't remember very much. Thanks again, Becky

    3. Greetings one and all. I know that some of you have been talking about the HCHS. I wrote to the only person I knew that knew anything about the inner workings of the society. I told her what people were thing (no names) just so she could pass it on to the higher ups to let them know more about what people either want from the HCHS or wish to have. Roberta Munske, the author of this short letter has responded to me and said that I could print it all and keep the names in so that people may contact the society. She spoke to Bob and Brenda, and so they are aware of this. She also said, she thinks they would all love to see a vibrant new group of members ready to take on projects. 2. Nadene Lange
    3. Hello to everyone who is looking for info on these people. I am new to the list, but it looks like I started something (great !) A few weeks ago I was checking on the rootsweb message board for McBride when I came across Linda from Indiana who was doing research on McBride's from Hampshire Co. WV. I took a chance an emailed her. What a great chance ! Linda and I connected. Her great great grandmother Susan Rebecca McBride and my great great grandmother (Lydia "Jane" Rainey) were sisters. So, any of the info that you have just recieved on John D. Miller and the Rainey's from Clearfield Co. Pa. came from me, Linda must have passed it on, which is OK with me, that is what this is all about ! I will be glad to help any of you out with what I have. The story goes that Jane and her father went to Hampshire Co. to take care of some sick relatives, (small pox, we think) I see from the posting that another daughter of John D. Miller died there also, Lilly, another missing link. I wa! s searching Wayne's cemetery postings (which I think is one of the best I have seen) and I found Edward B. Miller born 1855 and died 1936 and his wife (?) Emma L. Miller born 1876 died 1909. They are buried in the Russell Cem. in Levels. With this many people looking for info on these people we should be able to come up with something. To anyone who recieved Susan Bailey Miller's death certificate, her mother's maiden name is spelled Pinnich, I found out it is Pennock, they came from the Chester Co. area of Pa. Chester Co. Pa. Historical Society has family histories on the Bailey's and Pennock family, the books are very old, the will not photo copy them, you have to go to their library to look at them. If any of you are close to Chester Co. Pa. I have yet to get there. Nadene Ohio

    3. Would this be your Lydia Jane? Raney, Lydia J., d. Mar. 6, 1888, 38 yr; Hampshire. Father: Miller, J.D. Born Pennsylvania. Informant: Father. Book 1, p. 46 (Hampshire Co. death records). This is from Vicki Horton's compilation, Hampshire County Death Records (1866-1922). Another death that seems to be her sister (father has the same name, anyway): Miller, Lilly L. d. Mar. 4, 1888, 22 yr 1 mo 3 d. Hampshire. Father: Miller, J.D. Born Pennsylvania. Informant: father. Book 1, p. 45. I hope this helps. 3. Becky, If you know what county she died in, you could order the microfilm of the death records at your local LDS Family History Center. The death registers from that period in W.Va. list the cause of death, name of person reporting death, and parents of deceased if known by person reporting death. If you don't know which county, then you could write to the state. [email protected] wrote: > Hi Linda, > I am also looking for a member of the Miller Family. My information is from the memory of my great-grandmother, though she was old when she told me she still had great recall, I haven't done any research to document any of this.
