I am researching the ancestry of James Woods THOMAS, b. 1839 in Greenbrier Co. Many people have assisted and it is truly appreciated. I still can't get any proof yet about who his parents were. We think this was his family in 1850 as indicated on the 1850 Greenbrier Censes: Anderson, Thomas . 30 This is David Anderson Thomas, we think Amanda 30 James W. - 11 Elizabeth J - 9 George W - 7 Richard - 5 Elijah W. - 1/12 We also believe that this is the David A. Thomas found in the 1880 Greenbrier Census: David A. wm 63 Amanda M. wf 62 Elijah W - 30 Almony A - 10 We can not confirm the wife of David A. It could be Amanda Tailor; Amanda Melvinia Dyches; or Sally Taylor. Someone had listed a Mary Ellen Collison, b. 1852 marrying David Richard Thomas; son of David Anderson Thomas and Sally Taylor.
