Dear Heather, Your Lain Jones would be a contemporary of my John W. Jones [no sibs known] who was part of a clan in the Greenbrier/Webster/Nicholas County areas of current WV. John Jones and Catherine Donaldson's children were: Elizabeth, Caleb, Richard, William, Franklin, Margaret, Ruth, Catherine, Charles, and John Williams Jones. Family tradition says I'm missing at least 4 children. John's parents were Richard Jones and Nancy Williams [of Indian abduction fame]. They were married in 1792. Richard's father and grandfather were William and Thomas Jones. Does this tie in with any of your family?
