Hi Carol, and List, [ I am sending this to lists and will offer the same info to anyone on the list.] How are you? Well I may have a bit more information for you, today. I really have a lot of Osborn/Osbornes in my files. They married into a bunch of the families that my husband connects to or is related to. He relates, I think to families where the Osborn/Osbornes married Brown, Legg, Renick, Cart/Carte, Jarrett, Backhouse, Livesay, Shamblin, and Taylor to name the main ones, as well as the one who married a Hammersley. Do you have the information from the World Family Tree, vol 3, on the Osbornes which includes your George and Susannah Fleshman? I made an FTW out of that information and would gladly send you an attachment, if you don't have the information. I am not sure how many of the Osbornes that I have are actually connected. George is the last one in his line, which connects to our Jarrett line, which of course connects way back to the Vincents. Would be happy to send a gedcom, FTW, RTF, doc or whatever, if you want any of the information. Think I have seen the name Fleshman in the Greenbrier Book [ p. 48, but don't have that page] There are some Osbornes mentioned in the Greenbrier Heritage 97 book, [some copies] that I have, but nothing looked familiar. Vol 7 of the KVGS book [Kanawha Co. lists a Julia Ann Osborne lineage, but there is no info on her directly, though a descendent line is given. Happy hunting. BTW, this message is an example of what happens if you contact me again. Sometimes I will rethink what I have told you and find other information that I did not have time to look up or couldn't find at that moment. :-) Joyce in CA. Our Extended Family In a message dated 7/30/99 3:20:45 AM !!!First Boot!!!, [email protected] writes: << Subj: Re: [WVKANAWH-L] Ties to Oregon Date: 7/30/99 3:20:45 AM !!!First Boot!!! I find researching Osbornes is a tad confusing because (I believe) they liked two names so much that every son was named the same---George or John. According to my research my George Osborne was born in Greenbrier County (W)VA then moved to Kanawha and then to Roane County (W) VA. His birthdate, 1792 /m. Susanna Fleshman b. 1794 in. Monroe Co. (W) VA. Who George's parents were, I do not know. There is some indication Osbornes were of Norse origin, then to England etc. My Osbornes came to America ( three brothers) or at least that has been handed down generation to generation. >>
