Hello everyone, I am continueing with reports about some people that some of us have been researching lately. There has been discussion recently about the name of Rosanna Vincent Jarrett's second husband. A cemetery list for the Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church lists her in row 12 #3. It says that she is Rosannah Vincent Jarrett Duffa. She was b. Feb. 1, 1779 and d. August 1864. Jarrett Wood has already told me that he had viewed the actual tombstone and found the spelling as it is listed in the cemetery list. I have also found the spelling of her husband's name, in the "Hamilton Papers", which I am currently reviewing. To start with, let me credit the source of the "Hamilton Papers". Marilyn Schuelzky apparently wrote a report to John F. Hamilton Jr. There is an address for him, if anyone wants that. The papers include information from letters written by Aunt Ruth Hamilton Carlin, granddaughter of Major William Hamilton. The papers also indicate that Ike Mitchell sent them. And I got them via Betty Moutray. In the process, some compiling has been done, and notes of correction written in the information. Marilyn Schuelzky said in her letter, that Jacob Hamilton m. Delilah Jarrett. "Her father was James Jarrett, who married twice. His last wife was Rosanna Vincent, and she afterwards married a Duffey." So, that gives us another spelling for the name. Previously I believe I found his name spelled Duffy, in the Marriage CD. [Can be more specific if needed]. Several other sources [researchers] have spelled the name Duffy. Another question concerns where James Jarrett's family came from. Jarrett Wood feels pretty sure that James's family came from PA, and I believe plans to do a research trip to PA, in the near future to see what he can find out. Other Jarrett researchers seem to have no information about the parents of James Jarrett I or Sr. I do show three other brothers for James Jarrett I/Sr. Marilyn Schuelzky goes on to report that "the Jarrett family were French Huguenots who left France because of their religion." [I would be happy to know of any discussion or verification of this fact.] James Jarrett I was found in Greenbrier Co. VA. in the late 1700's. I do not have a birth place for him. Happy for any additions or corrections.
