    3. Hello Everyone, I have finished the writing of the newsletter for this month. I have been very quiet lately, but I have been doing some research. Hope to catch you up on it. Have found some very interesting information out, about families which may link into your lines. Richard Legg told me an interesting story about Shields Sigmon. He married Elizabeth J. Reece, as well as Margaret Harper. I mentioned Margaret's son James in a previous e-mail. Richard says that Shields Sigmon married Margaret Harper in 1892. He fathered several illegitimate children with Margaret. This resulted in Margaret losing the Civil War Pension of her first husband, William H. Legg. When she applied for the Pension based upon her second husband's service [Shield Sigmon], Shield used the information to get this request disapproved. One son of Shield's and Margaret, William Dayton Sigmon, went by the name of "Tan Legg", in reference to his illegitimate birth. From this story, I have a feeling that a separation may have occured between Shield and Margaret. Anyone know more about this? Also, does anyone have the parents of Margaret Harper? I have several Harpers in my files, who have married into the lines. Would be nice to connect them. Hope you found this story interesting.
