I know it's a longshot to post a query on a SMITH, but here goes: I am fishing for the parents of James SMITH (ABT 1819-AFT 1868). James SMITH married 4 Mar 1847 to Sarah J. MCCLUNG. Source: Greenbrier County Marriages, 1782-1900, by Larry G. Shuck, p. 337. Source: Greenbrier County Courthouse marriage records. Book 1-A, page 141, year 1847. He is listed in the 1850 Greenbrier Co., VA (now WVa) census, age "21", as head of household with wife, Sarah J., age "26". He is listed in the 1860 Greenbrier Co., VA (now WVa) census, age "35", as head of household, with wife, Sarah J., age "35". He is not listed in the 1870 Greenbrier Co., WVa census, and neither is wife, Sarah J. When his daughter married in 1868, he was alive, but his wife, Sarah J., was not: Samuel G.
