Louise, Your missing marriage record may have been filed in a neighboring county or in a different type of record (there are marriages in deed books, land office records, court order books etc.) Elusive marriage of one of my ancestors was not recorded in the county marriage book, but it was finally found "in loose papers" and published in an appendix.
