I gave the information [I hope] that on p 169 of the Greenbrier/Family Heritage 1997 book, Amanda C. Vance [b. 1864-] married Benjamin L. Thomas in 1862. Benjamin was the son of George, who was the son of a David Anderson Thomas. I do not see an Amanda Taylor/Tailer in the article, but read on, because I think this might be the family that you are looking for. Let me see if I can construct a line, based upon this article for the Thomas family. Remember that there do seem to be some discrepancies in the book or else differences in other references, so take the information subject to verification. James Thomas [one of the petitioners for the formation of Greenbrier Co.] was the father of David Thomas [not David Anderson Thomas]. David Thomas is listed on the 1790 census for Greenbrier Co. He is also listed on the 1787 Tax List for the county. He is listed along with his sons on the 1830 census. David's wife is possibly Elizabeth. She is listed on the 1840 Census with no spouse and was 40-50 years old. David's children were: David Anderson Thomas [1817-1904] m. Amanda Melvinia Dyches [1818-1884]. She was dau. of Richard and Elizabeth [Cary]. Henry M. [1828] m. Mary McMillion in 1832 Elizabeth [no info available about her in this article] George m. Lydia [last name unknown] John J.m.
