    2. Since there has been some things written about these families I thought I would share what I have on each... Let me know if anyone can tie in with these. I have a very large picture of Mary Ellen Collison in my dining room with the actually town she grew up in written on the back. I will take it down and look later. I have not done much on this side of the family yet. Melinda Ancestors of Mary Ellen Collison Generation No. 1 1. Mary Ellen Collison, born 1852 in Maryland; died 1922. She married (1) David Richard Thomas. He was the son of David Anderson Thomas and Sally Taylor. Notes for David Richard Thomas: Painted a confederate flag on the side of his grocery store after the Civil War in Lewisburg. Came from a Virginia Plantation. Buried at Old Stone Church in Lewisburg Children of Mary Collison and David Thomas are: i. Floyd Thomas, born 1869; died 1901. ii. Mary Etta Thomas, born 1872; died January 7, 1916. iii. Annie Thomas, born January 22, 1873; died February 6, 1893. iv. Madge Thomas, born 1874; died December 13, 1913; married Fleshman. v. William Oscar Thomas, born February 28, 1877; died December 26, 1895. vi. Virginia Thomas, born 1879; died 1940. vii. Maggie Thomas, born 1881; died 1947. viii. Nellie Thomas, born January 20, 1885; died 1887. ix. Philip Emory Thomas, born September 9, 1888 in Lewisburg, WV; died 1936; married Minnie Viola Howell. Ancestors of Mary Vance Generation No. 1 1. Mary Vance, born December 18, 1789 in Monaghan Twp., York Co., PA. She married (1) Conrad Cart. He was the son of Johann Adam Karg and Maria Catarina Schmidt. More About Mary Vance: Fact 1: German name "Wantz" More About Conrad Cart: Fact 1: April 7, 1782, Baptised--sponsored by Conrad Schmidt and Eliz. Heppenheimer Fact 2: Records from Enamuel Lutheran Church, Pottstown, Mont. Co., PA Child of Mary Vance and Conrad Cart is: i. Richard D. Carte, born August 11, 1821 in Greenbrier Co., WV; died March 29, 1893 in Wills Creek, Elkview, WV; married Mahala Osborne July 10, 1846 in Roane Co., WV. More About Mahala Osborne: Fact 1: Buried in the Carte Cemetery in Ekview Ancestors of Robert Vance Generation No. 1 1. Robert Vance. He married (1) Mary E. Cart January 26, 1810. She was the daughter of Willhelm Cart and Catherine Heppenheimer.
