Hi everyone, I'm researching the HUGHART family line. My brick wall has been to confirm with documentation the father of my ggggrandfather, Campbell HUGHART b. 1812, Adair Co., KY. I believe his family migrated to Kentucky from Virginia/West Virginia prior to his birth. >From "Adair Co, KY, Marriage Records, 1802-1840", compiled by Adair Co Genealogical Society: "HUGART, John and Polly BALDRIDGE. Attest William WEBSTER. Bond dated 24 Apr 1808." (I believe these are Campbell's parents) Is it possible that this John is the same one as that listed as the son of James HUGHART and Agnes JORDAN of VA/WV? The records I have show him marrying Jenny THOMPSON on 03 Aug 1792. Is it possible that Jenny died, John migrated to KY and married again to Mary(Polly) in 1808? In the same Adair Co. marriage records John is shown attesting to the marriages of Rebecca HUGHART and Elizabeth HUGHART. My Greenbrier information shows that John (son of James and Agnes) had sisters with these names. My John HUGHART died 11 Dec 1816 in Adair Co., KY. I can tell from the many small pieces of information that I've collected over the years that my Kentucky HUGHARTS are connected to these folks in VA/WV, but I would like to connect them to the correct family line.
