My paternal great-great grandfather was the Rev. James Anglin, born in Greenbrier Co. He lived in Clay County KY from about 1805. His wife was Jane Barrett, who was from TN. My paternal grandfather and grandmother were Abraham Phillips and Elizabeth Anglin. My father, who knew his Anglin-Phillips grandparents, said that the Rev. James Anglin was born in Greenbrier Co. [VA] 1780s, and that the father of Rev.James Anglin was M. J. Anglin of Greenbrier Co. and that the mother of Rev. James Anglin was Mary Miller, also from Greenbrier Co.
