Can anyone tell me anything about John McClenachan of Greenbrier (?) County during the 1760s? I am trying to run down information on the James Burns that shows in this passage from the March 23, 1765 entry in Chalkley's Chronicles of Scotch Irish Settlement in Virginia: (307) "Sarah Cartright and James Burns, servant of John MeClenachan, cured of venerial disease. (Many of same.)" If he had servants, he was obviously not a poor man; I specifically would like to know where and when he obtained James Burns for his servant, what line of work McClenachan was in (planter?) and where he was from and when he came to this country.
