BRACKMAN The Brackmans will be celebrating their 50th Golden Reunion Anniversary on July 13, 2002 at the old homeplace of the late Quillie & Exa Brackman in Alvon, West Virginia. Brackmans from all over the United States are encouraged to attend this special reunion. For the first 100 families that arrive a special "golden" memento will be given out. A group photo will be taken after the lunch is served. A special old time gospel sing will feature singers from various Brackman families and a special "Almost Heaven, West Virginia" song will be sung by children 12 and under. There will be the usual egg toss, horseshoe contests, sawdust penny pile for the kids and for the first time ever a "Sawdust Dime Pile" for the adults who always seen to end up in the kids sawdust pile. There will be a special Brackman Photo Album with pictures of Brackman thru the years and also an album called "Brackman in the News" which is a collection of items of interest on Brackmans published in the local newspapers. The minutes and programs from the past 50 years will be on display for all to read and get a glimpse of the 50 year history of the Brackman Reunions. T-Shirts, caps, and many, many golden prizes will be given out during the day. The Brackman Quilt made by Ada Brackman will be on display for all Brackmans to sign who have not signed it before. Also there will be a special "Golden Sunflower" quilt made by Ada Brackman to be auctioned off along with a beautiful afghan made by Annabel Brackman. To round up the auction there will be baseball items from our very own pro baseball player Seth McClung. Although Seth can't be with us due to his baseball schedule he has signed some balls and some cards to be auctioned off to raise money for the next reunions. This is going to be a great reunion that will be special in all ways and you won't want to miss. Plan to come around 11 AM and stay much longer than usual due the the amount of activites planned.
