Dear list About 2 years ago I inherited 1000s of pictures from a distant relative who had resided all her life in or near Big Clear Creek, Big Mt, Duo, Rupert and Kessler, in Greenbrier Co., WV. She died with no children, nieces or nephews so all these pictures were given to my cousin. He didn't want the pictures and knew that I was the family historian so he gave them to me. I glanced at them and knew that I had a job ahead of me sorting and trying to figure out who was who from OUR family, let alone all these other people so I put them all in a box and left them until I retired and moved this year never looking at them again. Last week I decided I'd better tackle these pictures before something happened to me and no one else could identify them. I was very lucky in most instances that she or someone had written the names of the person on the backs of about half of them. Out of the other half not written on, I could identify myself but there are an equal amount that I can't ID and it is a shame. Some of them are wonderful pictures of families and gatherings and lot of pictures of children. I want to keep some of them...for some reason there are doubles and triples of some pictures.....and share the rest with anyone that can relate to these people. These pictures range from the late 1800s to the 1980s... I'd say a hundred years worth of pictures, most all in good condition.
