    3. p. 386 Martha v. Walkup, Jemima Walkup, Jno.B. walkup, Joseph A Walkup, infant children of Joseph Walkup dec'd, appeared in Court and chose Andrew Beard as their Guardian, who thereupon entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $2000 with John a. North, his security, as conditioned according to law. [??The court of 25 Jan 1850 It is very tough in this publication to pinpoint the exact court date unless you read EVERY word on the previous several pages.] I only found 1 page where the name Walkup and Hanna appeared on the same page. It was well before 1846. There is only 1 record I could find for John Hanna after 1836. Do you know the names of any of the Children? Do you know the names of any of the Children? > The following is taken from the 1850 Census, Greenbrier Co. CENSUS: 1850 Greenbrier Co., Va Dwelling 180 Family 180 John Hanna 32 M Elizabeth Hanna 28 F Joseph Hanna 8 M Almira Walkup 7 F Valentine Walkup 4 M Sarah Walkup 2 F It has been suggest to me that perhaps Walkup was their middle names. I don't think so. For example, Valentine Walkup became Valentine Byrd Hanna by 1960. The two girls names were changed from Walkup to Hanna. The family moved to Wirt Co. about 1855. Elizabeth (Walkup) Hanna may have been their aunt, although I am unable to find a family from which the children may have come. Jimmie Barnes Homosassa, FL
