I need a geography "expert." I found a reference to my (I think) Thomas Henning in Augusta Co. records. "1798 -- insolvents and delinquents [tax] list: Thos. Henning removed to Kenowha." My question: would "removed to Kenowha" be a reasonable notation if he'd actually moved to Greenbrier Co.? Does anyone know if Kenowha was a general area or just the specific county? Of course, he could have gone west to Greenbrier and the grapevine rumor could have said Kenowha, which was beyond Greenbrier.
