    3. Greetings List. This is my first submission so keep that in mind. My Greenbrier ancestor was James Butler who later removed to Gallia Co., OH where he died in 1811. He was married to Anne Sims. His children, all born in Greenbrier were Eleanor Butler m. James Claypool, William Butler m. Lacy Grey, Anne Butler m. Phillip Shintaffer, Sims Butler m. Nancy Robinson, John Butler m. Elizabeth Harrah, Thomas Butler (my line) m. Mary Robinson, James Butler Jr. m. Hannah Harrah and Isaac Butler m. Clarissa Sargent. Thomas, Sims and Isaac were married in Gallia Co., OH; the others were all married in Greenbrier. To the best of my knowledge they were all born in Greenbrier. They all removed with their father James to Gallia Co. except for James Jr. and John. James Jr. later removed to Indiana but I think that John stayed put in the general area of Greenbrier, Summers and Monroe Counties. Not having been to Greenbrier Co. to do any research yet, the best I can tell online is that James owned land on Muddy Creek and also on Mill Creek in Greenbrier Co. James Jr. owned land in Summers Co. between Lick Creek and Laurel Creek and also on Flag Fork and Fisher's Fork. John owned land on Ephram's Creek in Fayette Co. My problem now is finding where James came from before Greenbrier Co. As an aside, is anyone familiar with this family? Can anyone help me shed some light on this crew? I'm going to Greenbrier in the next month or so to do some research and am looking forward to it. Jeff Butler Winchester, VA.
