Hi Vivian-- The Huber/Hoover line you are seeking "appears" to be from York Co., PA. I've been researching a few of the York Co., PA families that appear to have gone to Greenbrier & Monroe Co.: Holtzapple, Wentz (aka- Wantz & Vance) and have just started collecting some Hoover/Huber info. in the hopes of clearing up some of the muddy puddles. Maria Margaret Holtzapple is a d/o Erasmus & Christina Rauscher Holtzapple (Holtzapfel, Holsapple). She was b. 30 June 1762 and bt. 4 Aug 1762 per the records of Christ E.L. Church; her sponsor was Bernhard Holtzinger. In her father, Erasmus' will, she is mentioned as a daughter, "Margred now the wife of Frederick Hoober". It would also appear that a few of her siblings and their families also went to VA ( Shock, Klingman). Margaret's sister, Anna Maria, was md. to Philip Wentz and two of their sons, Adam & Jacob, also went to the Greenbrier/Monroe Co. area. A few months ago, I was extracting some of the early tax records for York Co. (Dover, Manchester Twps.) and found a record for Frederick Hoover, who is listed as having moved to Virginia; can't find the record right this minute, but it was definitely pre-1810; perhaps as early as 1801. I have gathered various info. on these lines, but haven't yet had the time to sort thru it all. Cathy
