    3. Good Morning Folks, It has been a long time since I partisipated in the list but due to family health problems I have been sitting on the sidelines. I wanted you to all know I am still here and still looking for additional information on the above families that at one time were in Greenbrier Co. SPENCER line goes back to James Spencer , supposed son of Thomas, who married first Elizabeth Hopenstal and second in 1833 married Mary COOK. COOK is my brickwall: According to census records Mary appeared to be much younger than James at the time of their marriage. ( Does anybody have a copy of that marriage?) When they were married James was a widower with 11 children including a set of infant twins. Is it possible that Mary first came to the Spencer home as a wet nurse or nanny? My line followes that of James & Mary's son Washington Spencer born in Nicholas Co. WV . "Wash" married Maryetta Williams and had a large family. They moved to Lewis Co. Washington in 1902 however their son, John Jones Spencer stayed in WV.(my line) I can't find what happened to Mary Cook Spencer and would love to connect with somebody who may have this information. TAYLOR my gggrandmother was Catherine Taylor b. 1835, daughter of StephenTaylor & Melinda Williams ( cousin to Maryetta Williams above) Stephen was son to Eli & Margaret Woods Taylor. Eli was son to Daniel Taylor ( war of 1812 vet) Other WV surnames include BENNETT COLLINS PERRY PATTERSON SHOULDERS COTTRILL GODFREY Brenda Collins Dillon
