    3. I am currently transcribing and indexing a number of early tithable and land records for the Greenbrier area which I hope to post on the Greenbrier, Summers, Pocahontas, Monroe, and Kanawha Co Genweb pages to reflect the earliest, permanent settlement of the area. To better understand the geographic landmarks listed in the records, I would like to request some feedback on the following locations. Using only my WV Atlas, I cannot always tell whether the historic name is the same as the current name and would like some discussion on these "Greenbrier" locations. Please let me know if the following descriptions are correct from an historical perspective: Greenbrier: Area includes rivers draining into the Greenbrier River, whose headwaters are north of Durbin and Bartow, WV in Pocahontas Co, and mouth just south of Hinton, WV in Summers County. In late 1700s, the area known as the Greenbrier included Greenbrier, Pocahontas, Summers and Monroe counties. Little Levels: Area around Hillsboro, WV (now in Pocahontas County) Spring Creek: Area around Renick, WV Sinking Creeks or Two Sinking Creeks: Area around Hughart and Williamsburg, WV Anthony's Creek: Area east of Anthony, WV in the Monongahela National Forest Howard's Creek: Area north of White Sulphur Springs, WV Great Levels: Area just west of Lewisburg, WV Muddy Creek: Area between Asbury and Alderson, WV on west side of Muddy Creek Mountain. Wolf Creek: Area around Wolf Creek, WV (southeast of Alderson) Sink Hole or "Sinkholds": Indian Creek: Rich Creek: Thanks for your assistance, Sara Patton
