Moores are a puzzling line for me. In the Greenbrier - Augusta area I have a very confusing set of data on McClung-Moore intermarriages[and some McClung ancestors]. I don't appear to have your Samuel in my data base of 5 or 6 other Samuel Moores. Do you know who his parents were or where he was born? I would like some help getting the Augusta/Greenbrier Moores a little more in order. Janet; I am a genealogy librarian and have Germans to America in my collection. I will check for you and get you an answer today. Be patient, I am on pacific coast and work evenings 8> Heather
Hi, I'm looking for someone who either has access to or can steer me to where I can find, "Germans to America: Lists of Passengers Arriving at US Ports 1850-1893", edited by Ira Glazier and P. William Filby. This is a multi-volume reference that lists German immigrants. I'm specifically looking for Andrew A. Koch from Hamburg, Germany, who came to America probably sometime between 1855-1869. He was born ca. 1835 and his mother's name was Mary. That's all the info I have, but I haven't been able to find that reference locally, and unless I know the specific year, don't want to order about 50 volumes on interlibrary loan. : ) Can anyone help me? Thanks a bunch, Janet Estep

Samuel MOORE and Mary ARCHER were married Sept 25, 1786 at Ronceverte, Greenbrier Co. I have a copy of that record. They lived in the county until about 1800, when they moved to Nicholas Co, KY. Glenda, It's great to find someone else working on this line. I'm a descendant of John Mushbarger and have a considerable amount of information which was provided to me by Joyce Mann. Hello, I am researching the Craig surname from Greenbrier County, West Virginia. I have been able to trace my ancestry back to a William Craig who was born in 1807 in Greenbrier County. I have read scholarly research which has suggested that my William Craig was a Junior, whose father was William Craig, Sr. I have also seen where my William Craig could be descended from a William Craig, a Coventer, from Ulster who first went to Pennsylvania and eventually settled in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. It is also suggested that a Robert Craig from Greenbrier County was somehow related. My William Craig left West Virginia (then Virginia) at the age of 18 or so, eventually ending up in what is now the State of Idaho. He was a mountain man and fur trapper. He married a Nez Perce Indian, Isabelle and had at least 4 children Joseph William, Annie, Martha and Adeline Craig. He died in 1869 and is buried at Jacques Spur Cemetery in Idaho. I am desperately trying to find out who William Craig's family was, his parents, siblings, if any, and other relatives. I would appreciate any help in either locating information on the Craig family or pointers on where to look for information. Thank you. Ryder Heidenrich
I show John Hanna and Elizabeth Smith as having 4 children: Andrew b. 1796, George b. 1803, Canal 1810, and John Smith Hanna b. abt. 1815. Does this match what you have? I am having computer problems and have to leave the list for a while. I hope I will be up and running as soon as possible but one never knowes what to expect with these machines. I want to leave the URL to my website. There are many surnames there that come from the Nicholas & Greenbrier Counties plus Melungeon and SE Native American pages. My goal has always been to share and giving back to those that shared their information and history with me. Hope you enjoy your visit and tell a friend. url: http://www.angelfire.com/wv2/dillon1944/ With Warm Reguards, Brenda Collins Dillon
Looking for information regarding the following: Lewis BRACKMAN who was married to Ollie HOYLMAN. They had the following children that I know of: Pearl Katherine BRACKMAN, Mavie BRACKMAN, and Marie BRACKMAN. I don't have any dates for anyone but Pearl and she is living. I suspect that Lewis and Ollie were probably born around 1890-1900. Since I don't have much to go on, any info. would be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks in advance, Gina in TN

Hello, I am researching Addie "BOWES" TYLER (b. 12-04-1892 - d. 7-15-1970 - married to William TYLER b. Dec. 1888 - d. about 1960) . Addie was born in West Virginia - probably Summers or Greenbrier County - and later lived with husband William in Summers County the remainder of her life. According to Addie's Social Security application, her father was John F. BOWES, and mother was Martha SPINKS, of Greenbrier County, West Virginia. (John F. Bowes born in Pennsylvania and Martha Spinks born in West Virginia, once part of Virginia, according to census information.) In the 1880 Lewisburg, Greenbrier, West Virginia census, there is a Martha SPINKS - age 13, therefore born about 1867, who was living with her father and mother, John E. (age 56) and Millie A. SPINKS (age 50) in the home of Martha's sister Nancy J. and her husband William HINKLE - several other siblings of John and Millie SPINKS and also William and Nancy HINKLE are also in the household. This appears to be the correct Martha SPINKS, as age and place would be appropriate. Marriage information for John F. BOWES and Martha SPINKS states marriage took place on 01-11-1891 in Greenbrier County, WV. Any further information on any of these individuals would be greatly appreciated. Vicki L.
