Hi Folks, So far, there are four people interested in ordering the 1900, 1910, and 1920 Census Images CD's from S-K Publications. We need two more people that want to go in with us, at about $50 per person for three CD's. (This is for the $100 dollar deposit for each CD...if it is less, they will send a refund...more, and they'll bill us.) Let me know if you are interested. Thanks! Valerie

Hello Valerie and all, What I great idea! I just purchased the 1870 and 1880 Greenbrier Co. census, and am excited that my purchase will make this information available to so many through the USGenWeb Archives. Hi Folks, S-K Publications <http://www.skpub.com/genie/censuscd/index.html> has been making Census CD's of actual census images and domnates a copy of every county census purchased to the USGenWeb Archives. At this time, there haven't been any Greenbrier County Census CD's ordered from them. Below is from their webiste: "1.These are scanned copies of the handwritten census records, taken from the microfilm. 2.All counties available for U.S. Federal Census: 1920, 1910, 1900, 1880, 1870, 1860, 1850, 1840, 1830, 1820, 1810, 1800, 1790. 3.Price: 75 cents per page. 4.When available: approximately two months time needed to produce CD from the time that you place your order. 5.Viewing software requires Windows95, NT, or 98. Mac users must provide own viewing software. SPECIAL ATTRACTION: As each county/year census is completed, a copy of the scanned images will be donated to the USGenWeb Archives for non-commercial display on the World-Wide Web. THUS, YOUR PURCHASE OF A CD, IN EFFECT, PROVIDES ON-LINE RESEARCHERS EVERYWHERE WITH ACCESS TO THE COUNTY AND CENSUS YEAR YOU HAVE SELECTED. It's as if you purchased a book and then donated it to your library or genealogy society -- except that, in this case, it's not a local library or society, but a world-wide library, easily accessible to everyone!" S-K has also made the following generous offer to researchers: "We will send out as many as six copies of the same CD (one county/year) at no additional charge, if up to six people pool their resources to purchase it. But one of the six needs to be in charge of organizing it and collecting the money to send on to us." So, folks, if you guys want to get together and order these CD's, let me know. Thanks! Is there proof that John (Capt Jack ) was the son of John Williams killed in 1763? I have a copy of the probate for John Williams killed in 1763, he did not have a will. There are many more McCLUNG bios at <ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/wv/greenbrier/bios/bios-m.txt> *************************************************************************** ANDREW HUTCHISON McCLUNG - farmer and stock-raiser of Meadow Bluff district, owning 550 acres of valuable land on Big Clear Creek, is a native of Greenbrier County. He was born on Meadow River, May 18, 1832, and he married on Laurel Creek, this county, March 12, 1856. John and Hannah (McMILLIAM) McCLUNG were his parents, and he married Nancy Ann, daughter of Alexander and Elenor (THOMPSON) McCLUNG. She was born in Greenbrier County, April 20, 1857. Hello Glenn and Juhling, Do you happen to know, who this Andrew married, or his parents etc.? There are many McClung pages in a book, that I would like to check for you. I would check the Greenbrier Co. W.VA. Heritage 1997, for you, but think it might be easier if I knew a spouse name or something. There might be a story about his family. I do not have all pages, but would be glad to try to look for a spouse name or something, which is not quite so plentiful in the index. The index is listed simply by the last name. I would have to check a whole bunch of pages to see if it is there. :-) Am on jury duty this week. Time is limited. Happy hunting. I am sending this to the Renick List to see if any of them, might have the answer for this query. Please refer to the address below and respond to [email protected] Lori referred this to the Greenbrier List, so am sending it back to the Greenbrier list to let them know that this forward has been made. I did not see any Renick/Stewart/Stuart marriages, in a quick look at the beginning of the Renick Book, where I supposed it would be. Hi Harold, How are you? There is a list of eight Renick people buried in that Cem. in Lewisburg. From that information, the author has concluded that Robert's son Thomas, has a son named William. However; I do see in another paragraph, that it lists a William H. Renick as a son of Robert and Mary Hamilton. . This William, who was born in 1792 and d. 1867 is the son of Robert Renick [who was son of Thomas and Feby]. For what it is worth, the book says that Robert's family moved to Clark Co. , O, around 1803. I am not sure where that Clark Co. was. There is another William mentioned at this Cem. Here is the rest of the information for the people buried at that cemetery. Thomas and Feby's children appear to have been b. around 1766, so guess the William who was b. in 1792, could not have been the William who was the son of Thomas and Feby. B.F. Harlow, Jr. apparently visited the cemetery in 1939. He also had the help of E.I. Renick in constructing who the people were who were buried there. At present, I do not know who E.I. Renick might be. This is information, found in Renicks of Greenbrier, by B.F. Harlow, Jr. I am quoting. 1. William Renick [as mentioned previously]1792-1867 2. Emily Emeline/Daughter of B. F. and E. Renick She was wife of Dr. D.C. B. Caldwell/born Jan. 16, 1825/died July 29, 1867. [B.F. and E. Renick are Benjamin Franklin Renick and Evelyn Anvilla Skiles Beard, as verified by the book] 3. Rebecca Renick/wife of William Renick, Esq. of this county/ d. Mar. 15,1845/aged 45 years. That puts her birth date at 1791. 4. Elizabeth R. Morgan/died Feg. 14, 1844/age 19 She was wife of Rev. T. Morgan/dau. of William Renick, Esq. 5. Robert M. Renick/died Oct. 1840/age 23y 6. George W. Renick/d. Aug. 27, 1840/age 20y 7. Mary Va. Dickson/der. 24th, 1839 in the 18th year of her age. 8. William Franklin Dickson/d. Feb. 2, 1841/in the [illegible] year of his age. Hope this is of some help.
