Hi Ann and all, I thought I would give you a little information, I just came in from the library. I was looking at a book something about a 1790 Ga. reconstructed census from all kinds of records. There is no information about what part of Ga. and not always a time frame. In deeds records for 1790 to 1792 there is a Jesse Vinson. There was no other information. I know you already know this but maybe some of the others might not have this information. About 179? Aaron Vinson passed away, his wife Sarah Ogburn had already passed away, they had married in Va. in November of 1767. A couple of the children were minors so in the court records there children were listed. Most people who know about this family know the names of eight of there children but the first child mentioned was a Jesse. Don't know if he was the oldest, the other children seem to be in age order. I have no information on him and have only seen his name in that record. He could have been born anytime between 1768 and 1790 but not likely that late as he was not one of the minors. This family was in Johnston County, N.C. Hope this helps someone. Barbara provided the information that you see below about Joseph Vincen...I am assuming that this would be Joseph Vincent Sr. who had properties in Greenbrier Co. There is more deed info for Joseph Vincent, on the Footsteps link on the main page of my geocities site. Hope this link or information is helpful to some of you. Some of his children are noted to have had this spelling in the marriage info for them. Joyce in Ca. Our Extended Family [Geocities]
Hello Barbara and List, Thank you for the list you put on the Vincent list, recently. It gives me another place to look for information...a new lead. :-) There is one Vincent who I think belongs to us. [8-Vincen, Joseph 14 Jul 1800 Greenbrier County, on the north side of Greenbrier river adjoing his own land and perris] The others, I doubt are connected, but never know. I have seen the name spelled Vincen in marriage records which involved the siblings of Joseph Vincent Jr. The Joseph Vincen in Greenbrier Co. is most likely our Joseph Sr., but could be Jr. as well. I will check the site, that was recommended and see if I can narrow it down any further. We also have some other notes on purchases in Greenbrier Co...in my FTW records. We also have deed records for our Vincents on my footsteps page, I believe on the geocities site....I believe it was Joseph Sr. that had the most extensive land holdings in Greenbrier as well as Shenandoah Co. VA. Joyce in Ca. Our Extended Family [Geocities] ______________________________ --------------------

Hi Nancy and Lists, Deitz is a name that I have not really researched to see if I could make their connections. Your names interest me, and think it possible that our research may tie together at some point. Here is a lineage of information for Joseph Deitz who married Amanda S. Legg. To Joyce Fluharty and lists, You indirectly asked if anyone had anything on Hundley or if they were researching them. I am not actively researching the Hundley family. [yet :-)] However, I have a Wanda Hundley b. abt. 1943, who m. John Kessler. Descendants of John L. Kessler 1 John L. Kessler b: July 11, 1937 in Hico, Fayette County, West Virginia .. +Wanda Hundley b: Abt. 1943 . 2 ? I can trace John's family back to Mary Ann Legg. Do you have that information? Mary Ann goes back to my husband's relative, Susannah Vincent b. 1774, who m. William H. Legg. Glad to share if you need any of that info. Is this family familiar to you? I also show Nehemiah S. Hundley who m. Sarah McClung. the only thing that I show about Nehemiah is that he was b. in Danville Va. Interestingly enough, Sarah is the sister of Andrew McClung, who married another of my husband's relatives, Delilah Vincent. She is mentioned in the McClung book, by William McClung as Delilah Elliott, which was her previously married name. I have acquired other information about the children of Delilah and Andrew McClung, is anyone is interested in that. Of course am always interested in sharing information about these families. :-) If I can be of help, let me know. I am looking for information on the McFarland estate in western Greenbrier County. The farm was probably called "Glenco". Dr. Jim McClung from Nicholas County[no relation of mine] may have been associated with it in later years. I am under the impression that the contents were sold sometime in the late 1890's.
