Sarah Frances Henson was the daughter of William R. Henson & Margaret? Claypoole. Complainants are, viz: Catharine Zickafoose, widow of Peter Zickafoose,deceased; Sampson Sickafoose, Susanna Buzzard and Reuben, her husband; Mary Fleisher and Henry, her husband; Fanny Mills and Western, her husband; Sally Zickafoose, infant. Peter Sickafoose died, intestate, leaving above widow and children and George and Elias Zickafoose, the two elder sons, owning land in Pendleton County in Crab Bottom. Elias died shortly after his father, leaving widow Elizabeth and infant children, Susanna, Elias, Elizabeth, Henry and Mary.

Would any county history books reveal the background of John E. Lewis who was born about 1812. He is listed as the sheriff in 1850 on the Greenbrier census. He is located on the 1860 Kanawha census with his family. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Karen

Hello Jim, Unfortunately, this information is extremely sketchy. I have some information from a Vincent Update Book, which Imogene Vincent compiled in 1986. Outside of that, I have not found out any more. I happened to notice that I don't have a county listed for Greenville, VA. That might be an interesting clue, if we could find that out. I find researching Osbornes is a tad confusing because (I believe) they liked two names so much that every son was named the same---George or John. According to my research my George Osborne was born in Greenbrier County (W)VA then moved to Kanawha and then to Roane County (W) VA. His birthdate, 1792 /m. Susanna Fleshman b. 1794 in. Monroe Co. (W) VA. Who George's parents were, I do not know. There is some indication Osbornes were of Norse origin, then to England etc. My Osbornes came to America ( three brothers) or at least that has been handed down generation to generation.

Carol, This is the family I am researching and I have a quite a bit of information but I was curious if the book list anything else on this family. Does anyone know exactly where in Clendenin George and Susannah are buried. I have visited their Daughter Mahalas grave in Elkview.
