I expect we all get a lot of junk email because of having our email addresses on various web-pages. There are several ways of making it impossible to extremely difficult for the "automatic" email-spiders to easily gather email addresses from web-pages. One of the best ways is to make the email address in graphic form as I've done on the Taylor County home page. http://www.rootsweb.com/~wvtaylor/ I realize it's a little more work for the Researchers who want to contact me because they have to manually type my email address, but it definitely does help keep the junk email (as a result of email-spiders) from reaching my inbox. The email spiders are finding my "new" WVTaylorCounty@gmail.com email address on the WV-county list at: http://rootsweb.com/%7Ewvgenweb/ and I've started to get junk mail since it's been added there. If there is enough interest in trying out the .gif method of email addresses on the WVGenWeb-county list and the WV county web-pages, I'll volunteer to create the .gif files for anyone who wants one. Does anyone have other ideas on how we can combat the problem of email-spiders and all the junk-mail that results from their gathering our email addresses? Connie
