Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I do advertise a MyFamily website on the Clay County Site called Portraits of our Clay County Ancestors. There is tons of genealogy information as well as over a thousand photos of Clay County Ancestors on the MyFamily site. People do advertise genealogy related items from time to time but for the most part, the site is just lots of information and photos. The site is free for the members, however, I pay for the server space for the site. My purpose of having the MyFamily site is to share genealogy information including information of living individuals among people with ties to Clay County and to still protect the information from outside sources. I do agree with Julie and Les, that I would not post a site that is primarily a advertising site. I have turned down a couple of persons under the same circumstances. We are not here to generate income for anyone. If she does not have genealogy material available on the site that is free to the public, there are places to advertise commercial sites. Hi Brenda, To me what you are describing is not the same as Julie's case. I understand that there was no free information available, only the choice to buy their book. I know that there are others that sell books but they do provide help and free information to go with it. The latter ones I do not have as much of a problem with and I do know that links exist to many of these. Maybe I should have ask Julie if this person does provide free information when queries are posted about a specific branch of the family listed in the book or does she feel that if anyone wants the information, they will have to buy the book.
