    3. Hi Les, Having a family style gathering or other type get-together seems like a great idea, at least for those of us who live in this great state. Are there many county coordinators who reside in other states? Do you have a meeting place already picked out? If not, since this will be a "family-style" get-together, we might want to consider scheduling it on the same week-end that other interesting events in the state are occuring such as the Stonewall Jackson Heritage Arts & Crafts Jubilee that is held on Labor Day weekend at Jackson's Mill in Lewis County. I'm sure many of our family members do not share our passion in genealogy and having other interesting things to see will entice them to join us for the day. Does anyone else have suggestions for where to meet? I know that there are quite a few of you who have been here with me since the start. I would like to take this opportunity to say a special thank you to each of you for your ten years of dedicated service. I would also like to offer thanks to those of you who have joined the Project over the years to pick up and continue the work on county pages that others had started. The work of dedicated County Coordinators helps make the Project appreciated by the visitors to the WVGenWeb Project pages. As a group we seem to have a very smooth running Project. It has indeed been a pleasure working without the controversies that oft times plague groups this large. I think it would be great if we could have a family style picnic or other gathering of all of our Project members and their families so that we could get to know each other better. Again my thanks to each of you for all you have accomplished. 3. Hi Les and Connie, This sounds like a GREAT idea, but unfortunately I would be one who would not be able to attend, since I live in the Valley of the Sun, Mesa, AZ and just do not have the funds to fly home at this time. Also, Labor Day Weekend will be my 45th High School Reunion and if I do get the funds together, that is what I would be doing that weekend. Keep me posted on anything that you all decide just in case I could possibly work it in. 3. Hi Connie, Normally I would consider that a great weekend for a get-together. This year I have a commitment to be in Sidney OH on Sept 5th through the 7th. I could make Jackson Mills on the 3rd or 4th but my wife could not make it on the 3rd. With the 4 day Arts and Crafts Fair, is Jackson Mills not quite crowded? Would there be an area where out group could get together? Most events that I have attended at the Mill it seemed the whole facility was quite full. I have not been to the Arts and Crafts Fair there but the one at Cedar Lakes here in Jackson County is usually packed all five days. 3. Hi Les, You're right, it usually is quite crowded every day of the event, and it is also spread out over many acres. With it being less than 3 months away they probably have all the little cottages and meeting rooms in the larger buildings already reserved since they plan this event every year. Since it is such a popular yearly event, I guess I was hoping that some of the county coordinators who are West Virginia residents and who were already planning on going to Jackson's Mills sometime during the four days, that maybe we could try to make it on the same day. If you don't already have a place and approximate date in mind, perhaps we need to get more feedback from some of the other county coordinators on when and where would be convenient for all. I do think it would be great to meet some of the other CC's and you. 3. Sounds like fun, but the Hampshire co CC and her husband have a long-established prior committee for Labor Day weekend. :( Cheryl Connie Burkett wrote: > Hi Les, > You're right, it usually is quite crowded every day of the event, and it is also > spread out over many acres.
