    3. Hello WVGenWeb CCS Below is a BOARD Motion 07-03 - Proposed Grievance Committee Bylaws Amendment. Please read this and then let me know if you agree for me to list WVGenWeb as one of the 5 states submitting this to the membership for a vote at the next national election. 3. Wes, I agree that WVGenWeb should be listed as one of the 5 states to sponsor this. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to voice our opinion on this important issue. I've been following this issue on the DISCUSS-list (and several other lists) and value the opinions of each side of the issue of how this amendment should get presented to the voting membership. The proposed amendment to the USGenWeb Bylaws appears to be a very good amendment and I will be voting yes on the amendment when it does come up for a vote whichever way it gets to the membership for a vote. For those who might not have been following this issue -- there are two methods for amending the USGenWeb Project bylaws in ARTICLE XVI of the bylaws. The first method is via State Sponsorship (Sections 2,3,and 4), the second method is via the Advisory Board (Section 5 -- in the case of an urgent matter affecting the well-being of The USGenWeb Project). With State Sponsorship, the proposed amendment will be voted on during the next annual election (July) and the voting membership will have more time to decide how to vote. With the Advisory Board method, it would be voted on "soon" and as Wes mentioned for those who have not been informed and have not been following this issue on the email lists, the few days they have for deciding how to vote or even if to vote may not be adequate.
