Hello WVGenWeb volunteers, Within the next day or two you should be receiving your ballots for the annual USGenWeb Project elections. I sincerely hope that each of you will visit the following page and carefully read what changes that some of the candidates have planned if elected. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgwelections/national-2007/candidates-index.htm The three positions that we in WVGenWeb need to be concerned with are: National Coordinator Covers entire project One Year Term Ending 31 August 2008 - 5 candidates Representative at Large Two Year Term Ending 31 August 2009 - 2 candidates SEMA County Coordinator Representative Two Year Term Ending 8/31/2009 - 2 candidates Some of these I find to have very radical ideas and maybe some questionable goals. Some of these are not listed on their official candidates pages but reading the postings from the archives of the USGENWEB-DISCUSS@rootsweb.com email list can provide more answers unless the archives for this list have been deleted by the Rootsweb Senior Advisors due to postings by some candidates and their supporters. I have saved 440 messages posted during the month of June 2007. Some of these I consider good postings from reasonable persons and other messages are downright scary with some things they say or threaten to do. I, for one, do not see the need for the many changes that some want to make for the Project. I may be old fashioned but I do not see making changes just for the sake of change. I do hope that each of you will take the time to vote for what you believe is right for you and best for the USGenWeb Project. Les Shockey SC
