    1. Dear Santa
    2. Dear Santa, I hope you and the elves are doing well. I have been extra good this year. Here is my list of things I would LOVE to receive at Christmas (or any time of year): New genealogical data for the Wood County, WVGenWeb Project so that more is available to others researching their ancestors. I am just one person and rely on the submiited data from others to make the web site interesting, growing and fun for others. Things I would love to add to the site are: BIOGRAPHIES BIRTHS CEMETERY & TOMBSTONES DEATHS MARRIAGES PIONEER & SETTLERS JOURNALS, DIARIES, etc. VINTAGE PHOTOGRAPHS PROBATE RECORDS WILLS OLD NEWS ABSTRACTS SCHOOL LISTS CHURCH LISTS (Members & pastors of various denominations) MILITARY RECORDS for CIVIL WAR, WWI, WWII, KOREAN OLD LETTERS FROM THE PAST I would also love to have all my fellow County Coordinators receive much needed data to add to their web sites as well. I will leave the milk and cookies in the usual spot for you and carrots for the reindeer with some sugar cubes as a special treat. Have a very Merry Christmas and a safe and wonderful trip! Take care from your friend, Kathie Harrison Wood Co., NEGenWeb Project http://www.rootsweb.com/~wvwood/

    1. Call for Mediator volunteers
    2. Linda Haas Davenport
    3. I was hoping that the GPC would have completed its procedures before it was necessary to call for AB members willing to serve as mediators for grievances. However, at this time the AB has two grievances and therefore it is necessary to ask for volunteers. Per Section A (below) this is a call for volunteers. If you are willing to serve please respond to this call. Under Section A of the Mediation Procedures it is directed that the National Coordinator shall ask which members of the Advisory Board are willing to serve as mediators. The entire Advisory Board shall then vote to select five (5) of these volunteers. Linda Haas Davenport NC USGenWeb Project

    1. Junk email because of email-spiders
    2. Connie Burkett
    3. I expect we all get a lot of junk email because of having our email addresses on various web-pages. There are several ways of making it impossible to extremely difficult for the "automatic" email-spiders to easily gather email addresses from web-pages. One of the best ways is to make the email address in graphic form as I've done on the Taylor County home page. http://www.rootsweb.com/~wvtaylor/ I realize it's a little more work for the Researchers who want to contact me because they have to manually type my email address, but it definitely does help keep the junk email (as a result of email-spiders) from reaching my inbox. The email spiders are finding my "new" WVTaylorCounty@gmail.com email address on the WV-county list at: http://rootsweb.com/%7Ewvgenweb/ and I've started to get junk mail since it's been added there. If there is enough interest in trying out the .gif method of email addresses on the WVGenWeb-county list and the WV county web-pages, I'll volunteer to create the .gif files for anyone who wants one. Does anyone have other ideas on how we can combat the problem of email-spiders and all the junk-mail that results from their gathering our email addresses? Connie
