Hello Cheryl, Juno.com is one of two ISPs that have this problem due to the way they handle their email. This has been discussed several times on Listowners. The headers come, but there's no content ... like it was an attachment that was stripped off. Lots of exciting news today, besides the fact I was stuck in an elevator up around the 23rd floor for a good 20 minutes until Ellen managed to get me rescured. Genealogy Helper magazine wants to feature the Project in its Jan/Feb issue. The November 2006 issue of Internet Genealogy will have an article on the Project entitled "The USGenWeb Project - The Land of the Free". A young man (aged 15), Brad Jencks, received the FGS Youth Genealogy Award for his outstanding contribution to perserving our history. He and his mother made a special trip to the booth because he wanted to meet me and tell me that he won this award because Josh Taylor and the CC of Salt Lake Co, UT site encouraged him to map a cemetary and place it on line at the county site for his Eagle Scout project. To understand the extent of his project visit the Salt Lake county website and click on Cemeteries Bingham. There will be more on this later. There has been so much going on that the time has passed in a whrilwind. People can't say enough good things about the project. Yesterday was another busy day. The USGenWeb presentations were well attended as was the panel discussion. Most of the people at the panel discussion were people who wanted to know more about the project, how it worked, how much time was involved for a volunteer and how to adopt a county. The highlight at the booth yesterday was the man who stopped by and sang us the Iowa state song (and did a good job of it). We had more people new to the Project stopping by because they heard about the project from a fellow attendee or in one of the sessions. The people manning the computers were kept busy all day. We also had several return visitors who had logged on the night before and stopped by to praise the project or to tell us about something they found. The list of people who want to volunteer, in one way or another, continues to grow. Once again I'm passing on the many, many "thank you" messages from the people who stopped by. The USGenWeb Project luncheon today was a great success. There are several CCs here, but the majority of the people attended because they are visitors to the Project sites and wanted to learn more about us. Our keynote speaker did an excellent job discussing our 10 year history and used several sites as examples of what a visitor is apt to find on one of the Project sites. There were several people today who stopped by the booth asking how they can volunteer. I spoke with many researchers today and it seems as if everyone I spoke with had a story to tell about how a project website or a CC helped them knock down a brick wall. People asked me to "tell everyone thank you!" Tomorrow evening is the USGenWeb Panel discussion and if even half the people who said they will be there attend it will again be a full house. Ellen and I talked today and we'll be contacting some of the speakers to see if we can place their seminars on-line for those of you who are not able to attend. Many of the sessions are being recorded and I'll stop by the recording booth tomorrow to check on prices and availability of tapes for anyone who is interested. It has been a long busy day and it's time to call it a night, but before I do I want to add my thanks to everyone else's for what you do.
