Carol, Yes! Joseph Darlington was the son of Benjamin and Mary Johnson Darlington. This was one of the marriages that I was sure about the parents. The age of Joseph's wife Jane Sims is what I would really like so that I can put her in the correct order in her family. Jane was the daughter of James Sims and Elizabeth Cotton and born between 1810-1813 using the 1850 and 1880 census. I have the 1850 census data for Martin and Milton Sims and would really appreciate the 1860 if you have it. Milton would be the son of Sarah Sims from a previous relationship. Sarah married Peyton Foster after Milton was born. I wonder which Martin this is? At the moment I can't help you with your John E. Sims (1818-1891-Lansing,Fayette Co.WV) mar to Hannah Keeney-1859. I am concentrating on the 15 children of James Sims of Nicholas County. He had a son named John (1787-1869) who married Mildred Hunter in 1812 in Kanawha County according to other Sims researchers. I have not seen anything that proves he was the son of James but I do know that James named a son John.
